The Rabbits are back and they are taking over the scene again!
Feel like I’ve been neglecting the so said ‘Golden Oldies’ from my teenage years for a while now and I think its time to bring them back! So from now on I pledge to post at least one Golden Oldie per week!
This weeks choice:
The Subways - Oh Yeah
Tom Doherty (Formerly Tom Large) x
The Subways - Oh Yeah
The Black Keys - Just Got To Be
Bombay Bicycle Club - Flaws
So, our office has a spotify account, and we have been tanning these ten beauty’s.
You need to get your ears around these!!!
Okay so I’m blogging about this late again, I know! But I’m a busy guy!
Right so if you don’t already know who they are, basically if Four Year Strong were English and from Lancashire, they’d be called Me Vs Hero!
These guys have been around for a while now but they’ve finally released an official music video and I have to say, us rabbits are loving it!
I personally bought MVH’s first EP when they released it in what, 2007 was it? And they haven’t let me down since! You will probably be seeing their vid on Kerrang or Scuzz but if you haven’t already I’m embedding it anyway!
Watch out for these guys, they’re going to be big!
Tom Large x
so, the rabbits have been out of their holes searching for some bands to promote on their independent label…
Enter The Colours, A three piece band from Blackpool. Jake Powell on guitar and vocals, Ben Swift on bass and vocals and Joey Pacman on drums.
The Gig:
The Lights faded and Jake Powell appeared on Keyboard, Joey Packman on bass and Ben Swift on drums, something was wrong with this set up. A Kaoss pad started to blurt out some messed up oscillated sounds as the band started to play, I then realised that this was an intro, a cleverly thought out one at that. As the intro faded Jake threw his hot red guitar over his head and started to pick at his strings while Joey and Ben swapped instruments. ‘Lights Fade Down’ started to play, I was captured by the colours, the sound of the colours… man I felt like the Colours gave me some sexy time and so did everyone else in the crowd.
This band (proudly our first band to promote) are truly worth it. They have this melodramatic afrobeat/ art rock sound.. its beautiful. Some what harrowing with tortured lyrics and nightmarish sounds, but done so sweet and subtle. Think of these bands, The xx, Foals, Beach house, Husky Rescue. The Colours will truly outshine them if on the same bill.
Listen to their songs (below)
and if you re-blog their videos and pics you might get a chance to meet them at one of their future gigs…..
The Colours
Minks - Funeral Song
- Lottie x
The Colours - Lights fade down
The Colours - Regrets for the patient
RE-BLOG THIS AND GET US FOLLOWERS.
we will then place your names into a raffle to win gig tickets. only if we see you reblog.
love the rabbits xxx
So the week end has come and gone and on the Thursday just passed two rabbits stood in the crowd at Blackpool’s west coast for a gig full of local bands.
Yes summer blues organised by Ben Arnold was the night, we have to say alot of alcohol was consumed (as per usual) but the live action and atmosphere was truly admirable. The gig had plenty of bands Playing but some stood out far more than others.
Kiss Kiss bang bang was probably the youngest band to play, this band does have allot of growing to do but you can hear some raw talent coming from these lads. A must see when your in Blackpool. their sounds is a cross between Kasabian and the libertines with some joyful Blackpool twists.
Sam Cummings always impresses me (jonnie) even way back in his band days. what can i say he is entertaining and has an amazing voice (watch out for bookings sam).
Our very own The Colours played, we have recently decided to support these on our independent promotions label. check out the future posts just to see why.
We are currently battleing with one of our photograhers to get of his bottom and sort out the pics of the night, so stay tuned.
